Creating lasting behaviour change while building your relationship with your animal.

I’ve been in the animal care industry for 10 years, handling challenging dogs throughout my career. I’ve been able to work with a wide variety of dogs both virtually and in person from puppies, seniors, geriatric, gregarious greeters, hearing impaired, tripods, rescues, fearful, reactive and aggressive dogs (including dogs deemed dangerous by The City of Toronto) and help their pet parents navigate the challenges of living in a big city with their dogs using scientifically proven, considerate training methods.

I have been lucky enough to work with cats both in shelter and through post adoption support at a local animal shelter. Although each species has a unique culture, there are overarching themes that bridge the gaps of interspecies relationship.

The animal training industry is unregulated which led me to become an Animal Behaviour College Certified Dog Trainer, Certified Professional Dog Trainer- Knowledge Assessed through The Certification Council for Professional Dog Trainers. My thirst for knowledge led me to continue my education with certifications in Fear Free Certified Animal Trainer, Family Paws Parent Educator and, Certified Dog Behaviour Consultant through the International Association of Animal Behaviour Consultants.

I am currently working towards becoming a Certified Cat Behaviour Consultant through the International Animal Behaviour Consultants.

Navigating the early stages of that relationship can be challenging for everyone. I believe our relationships with our animal companions should be fun. Learning how to communicate, understanding motivations and coming to sustainable compromises sets the foundation for long-term happiness.
